I have been visiting this restaurant in the Springs for as long as they have been open! Great quality food, always consistent, great spice. Definitely my favorite. The lunch buffet is definitely a great value. Lots of fresh hot naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, vegetable pakoras, aloo gobi (yum, my fave), great kheer. Great mango lassi's as well. I have eaten at just about every other Indian restaurant in town, and I always come back here. Definitely my favorite, and definitely recommended!

Just tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. Pretty good all around, but maybe a tad over hyped. My friend and I tried sampling several dishes, but were quickly overwhelmed when gluttony took over... Great Vindaloo, but the chicken was a bit dry. Shrimp was good though. Gonna try the fish next time. The sambosa (appetizer) is a meal unto itself. *Side note* - the garlic naan is simply THE greatest naan I've ever experienced in COS!

They do offer a buffet at lunch, but unfortunately not at dinner. I had been craving Indian food for a while and Mirch Masala did not blow my mind away, but didn't disappoint either. Of course, one of the first things that I tried was the Naan. I felt like deviating from the norm, so I decided to get the garlic and onion version. The onions were a bit too overpowering and masked the natural flavor of the Naan, which I wasn't a big fan of. There were so many onions on it that my friend said that it looked like a quiche. Another appetizer that I ordered were some Samosas, because I'm a sucker for them. I'd never seen a meat Samosa on the menu before, so I decided to order it. Wasn't a very big fan. I'll try the traditional vegetarian version when I go back. I grew up eating Japanese style curry a lot, so I'm definitely a bigger fan of the spicy curries than the yogurt based sweet type. The Karahi sounded great, with stir fried onions and peppers along with a spicy red curry sauce. This was my favorite dish of the night. I also tried the Chicken Marsala, but it was nothing special. I think I've been spoiled by the really great Indian restaurants back in Chicago. This place was good, but didn't do anything fantastic. It has a nice quiet atmosphere and great service, so it's probably a good place to take a date.

Mediocre food. Terrible service. Very slow and unattentive. The guy had no clue what he was doing. Would not recommend to anyone visiting Colorado Springs.

    Very good! Buffet excellent.

Quirky...that is the only way I can describe the place. From the strange breezeway entrance, to the decorative walls. But don't let this slow you down. You do get a happy vibe from the place and I think the staff helps relay that feeling. They service is great and always smiling. The buffet is simply amazing. for having a few items, they really put out a few things that make the palate dance. The na'an is really tasty and they bring it out by the boat load. If you are looking for a quality Indian sit down joint....this is it.

I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants. This one is not good. I'd consider this the "McDonald's" of Indian food. We went there for the lunch buffet. I'm well aware that the buffet tends to be the dumbed-down-for-Americans version of Indian food at most places. But a chicken tikka masala shouldn't leave me with an aftertaste of ketchup. Of the 5 (?!) or so entrees offered on the buffet, my fiancé and I found only one of them edible. Even the desserts (of which there were 4 choices; mis-appropriated effort if I may say so) were sickly-sweet, and lacking the rosewater flavor I sought. We both left the buffet hungry. I had to get up and hunt down the waiter to order lassis, 15 minutes after we seated ourselves. (To their credit, the delicious lassis are the reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.) To top it off, about an hour and a half after we left, my fiancé had an attack of such intense gastrointestinal distress that we had to cut our activities short and go home. I have no doubt it was Mirch Masala's food. I haven't been to the other 3 Indian restaurants that are close by (yet), but I suggest that you try them before sacrificing your digestive system to Mirch Masala.

Lunch buffet was really good and have also eaten dinner there and it was great as well. Service was very good. Nothing negative and will definitely go back...

  • Lee S.

I went with a group and we all ordered different items and shared. The naan was great. We had 3 types - garlic, cheese, and masala. My favorite entrees were the Tikka Masala and the Korma (curry). I like that you can chose the level of heat, but be aware medium varies from dish to dish also. Unless they made a mistake, the medium Korma was much milder than the medium for other dishes I tried. I do not recall all the things we had or I would list them. Fun and tasty meal. I will be back to try the buffet with my family.

I have been frequenting this Indian restaurant for years and I think it is the best in Colorado Springs. The very best dish is the Baigan Bhartha, but their Saag Paneer, Dal and Chana Masala are all very good. They also have a "sampler plate" for vegetarian or meat and you can try many different dishes, which is fun. I also like the rice pudding as a treat. The chai is also good. The samosa and onion bhaji are both good too if you want an appetizer. Inside it is pretty cool with the murals on the walls and they tend to seat you a little more privately if the restaurant isn't full. The restrooms are also cleaner than other Indian restaurants in town. The service can be hit or miss, but normally it is pretty good. There is a really nice guy that usually works the host/hostess area who is always polite and friendly to me when I come in. I have had the lunch buffet once. I thought it was ok. However, with any buffet -- you get what you pay for. I wouldn't say it is bad, but I think made to order Indian food is much better and they can prepare it with your level of spice. It is worth it to pay a few more dollars and get a meal. The portions are plenty, so you won't go away hungry! They will also give you extra rice if you ask for it. The one thing to be aware of it that they close between lunch and dinner, so a 4:30 pm early meal is only going to get you a "closed" sign. I've actually done that a few times and have seen others try to enter before 5:00 pm and find a locked door. They also have good take out too!

Have been to this place plenty of times and decided to go this weekend. I noticed right away that the staff were all different. I asked the staff what happen to the other management and was notified that they have been here for years. I must be in the twilight zone becuase I am pretty sure the staff are all new. The food was ok but the silverware and plates were all dirty. Was their dishwasher broken? Cups had stains. All the dirtiness really turned me off from eating. Other than that it was OK.

  • Sarah B.

So unimpressed. My friends and I love Indian food and thought it would be great to try a new place while on vacation. Staff was very nice and service was good as well. But the food just sucked! It was all very greasy. And just plain yucky. I have had Indian food in many different states and cities and never had it suck this much! Food tasted like it had been under a heat lamp all day. And no, we didn't eat from the buffet.

This Indian buffet is small but mighty. The restaurant has gone through several incarnations of ownership since I started lunching there 15 years ago. I miss the old servers who started to remember my dad and me over the years, but I hope the latest crew and chef stick around. At my last visit, the lunch buffet had all my favorites including chicken tikka masala plus butter chicken and tandoori plus a very spicy chili chicken. Some Indian restaurant go heavy on the vegetarian offerings and while it's tasty it's most likely a cost effective measure. Mirch Masala doesn't cut corners when it comes to food variety. My only complaint is that the restaurant is so popular that the tables of guests who have left stay clogged with dirty plates, glasses and silverware for far too long; clean up bit more quickly and I'd probably say this is the best Indian restaurant in town.

  • Maureen O.

Outstanding food and service, easily the best Indian food in town. I had chicken tikka saag, which was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered lamb tikka curry on a whim (which he doesn't care for) and loved it and my son's lamb chops were simply amazing. Naan and onion kulcha were wonderful too.

  • Daniela B.

My husband had been looking for curry so we decided to give it a go. We showed up at 9 pm and the place was empty so we didn't know if we would even be able to get food. They did serve us and we ordered lamb vindaloo and another lamb dish. We asked for extra spicy. The food was good, spice just right. My husband ordered an Indian beer and it was 14 months from manufacturing date so it had been sitting around for quite a bit. There is no ambiance but an ok stop if you are craving curry especially lamb dishes

  • Andy B.

We got take out from here whilst visited friends in the Springs. I am from England and so have an expectation of flavors/heat level from curries. We ordered a lamb vindaloo, a chicken vindaloo, a navratan korma, keema naan and garlic naan. The prices of the entrees was pretty high ($15 each). I was asked how hot/spicy I wanted the vindaloos - which was a little concerning as vindaloo should be super spicy (just below a phaal really). Upon returning home we unpacked the food. I really can only describe the entrees/curries as being more like soups. A whole lot of liquid (not sauce as it was too runny for that) and very limited protein/veggies. Both vindaloos were incredibly mild, tomato being the overwhelming flavor. The navratan korma (which is a vegetable dish) was also more like a soup than a curry. The keema naan was very dry - almost like a cracker - and despite smelling strongly of garlic the garlic naan didn't taste that strongly of garlic. Maybe this place has adjusted its menu/tastes to its local population, but for the prices they charge there should have been a lot lot more protein and for it to have been considered curry (let alone vindaloo curry) they should have been way way spicier. I would not return to this place on my next visit to the Springs.

The naan was deliciously fresh!I had the dinner buffet, and though it is small, there are plenty of options including lamb, beef and chicken. Place is cozy, servers are attentive and food is great!

My go to Indian food in the springs. It's all about the lunch buffet. They have a small variety of Indian fare including tikka masala, tandoori, and paneer saag. The naan bread is baked to order and is fantastic, perfect for soaking up all of the sauce. I usually order a chai to go with my meal in the winter. It's flavorful and delicious. It's a hole in the wall, but everything here is fantastic.

  • Steffen M.

Solid food. Not out is this world, but definitely worth the money. Good prices (dinner for two with no alcohol 30 bucks). Service was very good. Food served hot. Unless you cannot stand spicey food, don't get anything mild. We'll be going back.

  • Kali H.

Amazing food and service. Shrimp korma is the best I have ever had and I love their cheesy naan. Decor is a little old, but the food more than makes up for it. Tiny hole in the wall with great food, my absolute favorite!

  • Keith H.

Very good Indian food. They also have a fantastic buffet that is always well stocked. I would suggest this one for anyone interested in a fun, quiet Indian restaurant.

The hours of operation for this place is absolutely absurd. I rushed here after work only to find out they are open for lunch, close, and then re-open at 5pm for dinner. It's 2015, unless your a 4/5 star restaurant then hire some staff to actually work a place of business.

My favorite Indian place in springs! Price is unbeatable and the good is delicious! Highly reccomend especially for their lunch buffet!

Since it was our first time here, we stuck to our usual when we go to Indian or Nepalese restaurants. Btw, this is a Nepalese restaurant which is similar to Indian food, but different. I am no expert, but it definitely tasted Nepalese bc the dishes were creamy and the spices are not as distinctive Indian food. But, the dishes were flavorful. We ordered a side of plain naan, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and vegetable korma. It was all very tasty. The saag was creamy ad the cheese was yummy! The chicken tikka masala had tender and moist chicken; it wasn't dry at all (like some places I've tried). So far this is the best Nepalese food here in the Springs. I would say it's much better than Little Nepal, which at first seemed good, but when I got it delivered to the house, it was bland and it tasted like they didn't know how to bring out the spices in their dish. If it had flavor, it was bc they added too much salt. Don't go to little Nepal; go to Mirch Masala. I will come here again and see if there are any changes. I haven't tried the buffet yet; we came here for dinner and ordered dishes a la carte.

  • Zebulon P.

For those who assume this is an Indian restaurant, it's not. It's Nepalese. There is a difference. Nepalese food in the US is most likely a hybrid of both although the curries are a bit more thin and liquid like than the thicker Indian curry. Indian food tends to have more spices and is richer in flavor which is one reason why I prefer Indian cuisine. That being said, Mirch Masala and the Nepalese family that operates it are wonderful. They offer great, prompt service and very good food compared to some of the other Nepalese joints in the area. We ordered our usual Saag Paneer, Veggie Korma, and chicken Tikka Masala. Although I prefer the Indian versions these were still good. I'm giving the fourth star to the family that served us.

Good Indian food. I left happy and filled. But I just love Indian food anyways. YUM!

This review is for their lunch buffet. They have a small but tasty selection of Indian dishes to try. It's a great place for beginners to get their first taste of Indian food. I love their Saag, and the naan bread. The Tikka Masala isn't the best I ever had, but I still enjoyed it. The selection doesn't have any hot and spicy dishes, but you can liven it up with some of the sirracha they have on hand. Overall it's a great deal for only $8.95.

We go here now and then. Most Indian buffets don't offer dinner, this one does, so here we go. Starting off with the decor, it is a contrast of confusion. They seem to have spent a lot of effort in painting murals, but the booths are deteriorated. The booths have cracked and peeling vinyl. Also, the air return ducts are quite dusty. Other than that, the restaurant is okay for a buffet-style meal in the $16 price range. The nan is very tasty and goes perfectly well with the saucy dishes for soaking up all the goodness. The rice options are plain or some kind of seasoned rice. Only one dish, a chicken dish I cannot begin to pronounce, was listed as spicy. It was indeed spicy as advertised. All the vegetable dishes and meat dishes had good flavor and spice, although not hot-spicy. I'm sure because of the Americanization of the dishes. My two biggest disappointments are the saag paneer and the rice pudding. The saag panner was nice and creamy with good flavor, but there were no chunks of cheese in it. The rice pudding was sweet with no spice or almonds in it. Overall, a decent meal and we feel a good value for the price. As far as really good Indian food in this town, Mirsh Masala is a solid option.

I've been here twice for the dinner buffet and both times were amazing! I especially loved the vegetable korma and the mushroom dish they had prepared. It was so good I've completely stuffed myself both times. Also fresh naan is always brought to the table. I think I'm going to be a regular at Mirch Masala.

  • Brianne P.

I stopped in for the dinner buffet around 7 on a Thursday night. The dining area was pretty busy. Although some of the reviews mentioned that the curries were runny, I thought the flavors were good. They were definitely Americanized and very heavy on the cream-based dishes. I did enjoy the Tikka Masala. The Naan served with dinner was fresh and delicious. Beware if you are sensitive or react to MSG. I should have asked before I started eating because I ended up with a horrible migraine in the morning. I'm not sure what dishes contain MSG but perhaps that is why they tasted so good. I've eaten at Little Nepal several times and gave never gotten a migraine after so if you want a little more variety and more authentic Nepalese food go there.

I was looking forward to lunch with my friends here. I LOVE Indian food and I especially adore the buffet style for its ease and flexibility. If I don't like something, it's not a big deal. If I do I can go get more. I had such high expectations. What a disappointment. Insert sigh here. All the dishes were mild. No hot/spicy anything! Indian is inheritly spicy and some dishes are down right hot. I do appreciate Indian cuisine and I love that, when u encounter a spicy dish, you can use raita to cleanse and soothe your palate. The raita was totally useless here. It sat on my plate, sad and cast to the side. They did not have saffron rice, all they had was white rice. I heard that their dinner menu is more authentic, but I only go to Indian restaurants at lunch since most don't serve a buffet at dinner time. Will probably never go back :(

I'm not too big on Indian food till tried this place everything here seems to be excellent. It may look like a hole in the wall, but that is usually where you can get the best food.

For my first time having Indian food for dinner in the Springs, I ate here on a Monday night with my girlfriend. We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time we were here, and even so, the food was okay at best. Nothing about it was very special, and I can't remember the last time my stomach felt this bad after eating Indian food. I will be trying other places before I would even consider going back here again.

  • Kasey B.

This is decent Indian food when you are in a craving bind. I think they recently got a new chef, because the food is a little better than it has been. The selection is limited and predictable, but the price is good. If you like the normal Indian food, this is a great place. You can order off the menu as well, but the buffet is the way to go.

$3 dollars for naan is ridiculous. food did not look good either--very overpriced. left without ordering.

    (2)
  • Cobra K.

Good...just not as good as some of the other Indian restaurants in town. Just my opinion...chicken tikka masala isn't bad, tandoori chicken was a little dry, chai tea was great and the naan was acceptable. Nothing mind blowing. Oh,and the waitress there was H O T!!!

    (3)
  • Cielo G.

Don't bother. Not as many items on the buffet as other places. Saag was extra creamy (didn't try it).

  • Jay K.

Yelp-sters let me down on this one. Based upon the reviews I decided to try the lunch buffet and what a let down. The restaurant is a bit of dive. Look, I don't mind dives...in fact some of the best grub I've had were at dives. But the key difference between must a dive and a good dive is great food and Mirch Masala didn't cut it. The the dishes were watery...and the sauce/curry was really thin and runny. For example, I'm used to butter chicken having a rich, creamy sauce. Also, the chicken tikka Marsala was also watery and the chicken didn't 'tikka'...and it didn't seemed to have been grilled in a clay oven like its supposed to. The saag paneer was bland. The best thing was the naan, which is brought out separately and tasted fresh.

Seriously yummy food! Everything tastes great and the prices are definitely reasonable. Sometimes the service is a little hit and miss, but for the most part I have no complaints. This is my go-to place for Indian food in the springs.

  • Nathaniel E.

This is one of the better "Indian" restaurants in town, but it is not at all authentic. The tikka masala is honestly pretty gross (watery, sweet, and flavorless) and the Gulab Jamun is barely passable, but otherwise the food is what you'd expect. Everything needs more spices. The prices are decent but the service is awkward - the older Nepali man is the only one who really seems to be comfortable with his customers or glad to do his job. This place is the equivalent of "Chinese" food, basically, it is highly Americanized....but so is every other Indian place in Colorado Springs. If anyone knows of somewhere better, please message me.

Folks, I LOVE to eat here. Whether off the menu or the buffet, you can't go wrong. The tandori chicken is really good but my all time favorite here is the Mango Custard. The wait staff is attentive and friendly without being intrusive.

Oh Indian cuisine, how I have missed being able to frequent you as often as I like! Being stuck in nowhere Texas for the past 4 years, if I wanted anything remotely ethnic...well, I could either make it myself or drive 3 1/2 hours to actually reach civilization. My first foray into the Colorado Springs scene was Mirch Masala. We tried out their dinner buffet for a late lunch on Saturday and, for $8.95, I thought it was well worth the price. That's not to say it was the best Indian food I've ever had, but it was definitely competent and a good choice close to our home. The buffet isn't extensive, but on the day we came, it offered a fairly even choice of vegetarian and meat dishes. The cabbage with lentils and garlic was especially good that day, while their chicken tikka masala tasted freshly made. I wasn't bowled over by the samosas, but pleasantly surprised they were included on the buffet; usually you have to pay extra for them. The free nan brought to your table was adequate, but not the best I've ever had. I will definitely hit up Mirch Masala again (especially for the excellent value their buffet offers at lunch), but will definitely venture out to other places in the Springs in the meantime.

Ok I was a little nervous when we first walked in...there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant and they left shortly after we sat down. So for a while we were the only ones in there. It reminded me of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. I was craving curry and knew this place was right down the street from my work, so I took a friend that had never had indian food before. I got the curry chicken mild (didn't want to over do it while having someone new trying it) she unfortunately she did not like it. She kept saying it tasted like pumpkin lol. It was a little pricey for what we got. I was able to eat my dish by myself and I am not a big eater. Also the language barrier is a little tough to deal with, had to repeat myself several times. But in all the guys were nice and the food was yummy. I will probably be back when I need and Indian food fix!

    (3)
  • Brian D.

The food was decent. The service was really non-existent. I can tolerate average food if the service is decent, or great food if the service is below average, but they didn't excell at either. The lunch buffet may be the way to go. There were around a half dozen indian guys eating in the place if that's an indicator of authenticity.

Clean. After an ill-fated misadventure a block away at Taste of India (read about it there), my friend and I drove the block or so over to Mirch Masala. \ As with so many Indian restaurants, my nose instantly began dancing to the tunes of so many wonderful fragrances. My eyes were also captivated by two beautiful murals painted on the north- and south-facing walls. The south-facing wall's mural was a triptych based on Mira Nair's great, old movie, "Salaam Bombay." My eyes enjoyed traveling through it as my tongue traveled through the many flavors of Mirch Masala's lunch buffet. To be fair, the dishes presented in the buffet bar were what you might find anywhere. Vegetable pekora, gobi alu, saag paneer, chicken tiki masala, dal, chana masala, etc. The spices, though, were out of this world. Just perfect, full, and even a bit on the hotter side. Really, really excellent. I think they may make the best kheer (rice pudding) I have had in Colorado. It was richly creamy, and yet not oppressively sweet. The mango custard was glorious. About the only disappointment was the naan. There was little flavor to it. Basically, it was a good for dipping into the chutneys. We highly recommend avoiding Taste of India and, instead, stopping at this N. Academy Blvd gem. Be sure to wish the Buddha, whose altar is along the north wall, a proper Namaste upon exiting. At Mirch Masala, he presides over a very blessed environment indeed.

Went for the lunch buffet on a Sunday. The place was crowded the whole time. The food was very good. I've never had Indian food before this so I can't compare to anything else. The service was friendly and quick to refill items on the buffet. The price was right! I'll definitely be back!

Mirch Masala is one of the better Indian restaurants around here. I like it better than "Taste Of India" just down the street. They have the absolute best Naan in town. And the lunch buffet is a fantastic deal. Not really for kids, as there's not much of a kids menu and American children probably wouldn't like spicy curried foods anyway.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch today to check out the buffet. We had been told that Mirch Masala is the best indian food in town. If this is the case, I'm going to be a sad, sad foodie. Don't get me wrong, the food is perfectly adequate and I also understand that a lunch buffet isn't the best way to judge the merits of a restaurant, but I'm not really sure we'll be back. Anyhow, the buffet featured fried potato disks (not crispy and alittle rubbery), a spicy dry-fired chicken (best meat-dish of the buffet), daal, paneer, chana masala, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, aloo vindaloo and well as a simple salad bar. The chicken tikka masala was tasty and I commend the chef for using chunks of white meat chicken in the dish. The paneer was creamy, but a tad too bland. Usually daal is one of my favorite dishes, but Mirch Masala's was a mix of lentils, red beans and black eyed peas...not my favorite mix, but I guess it was ok. Maybe the common theme is that I found all of the food rather bland in spice and heat. On a positive note, the naan came to the table freshly baked and glistening with a swipe of butter--delicious! They featured coconut rice pudding (which was meh), a sweetened carrot dish and mango pudding, which was creamy-good. Try drizzling the coconut cream over the mango pudding...yum. Also, the service was quick and attentive. If you are craving indian food, Mirch Masala will do, but I'll be making the rounds to some of the other south asia joints around town before I make the return trip.

Ambiance: Nicely decorated restaurant with soothing Indian music playing in the background. Interesting collection of tapestries and Indian artifacts adorn the walls. Comfy booth and table seating. A buffet station is placed against one wall that is utilized during the lunch time. Service: Always friendly and attentive. Food: Lunch is pretty good (buffet style), though some of the buffet entrees have been a little "dumbed down" for those that can't take their Indian food spiced the authentic way. Dinner however is another story. Very, very good! The curries are wonderfully spiced (I order mine "medium plus" which gives it lots of "pow" without being over-powering.) I absolutely love their Chicken Tikka Masala as well as their Chicken Korma. Also very good is their Saag Paneer, with lots of homemade cheese cubes. All their nans are delicious, especially their cheese variety (if in a large group, we like to order three or four different varieties of nan.) Nice selection of chutneys. Their rice is nice and fluffy and well- seasoned (makes a great accompaniment to their curry dishes.) Decent rice pudding for dessert. Overall, one of the better Indian restaurants in town. A decent option to get your Indian fix at lunch (buffet style), but an absolute winner at dinner time.

I would rate this place as the best Indian food in the Northern Springs area. I have not had a bad meal here yet. The buffet is good but could be a little larger.(more items to choose from) They have a good range of spicy dishes all the way down to almost no spiciness. The Naan is incredible. I recommend this place highly if you are in the mood for good Indian food. Not great for kids though.

I really enjoy the food here. I generally am not a fan of buffets as the food is not as fresh; however, their buffet is quiet good.

My girlfriend and I have been here several times for dinner and every time it has been consistently delicious. Our favorite dish here is definitely the chicken tiki masala. Service has always been great as has the food. I would recommend this place to anyone!

What you pay for is what you get. The worst of many Indian restaurant I have been to. Tasteless and bland. I can make better curries at home and i am not even a good cook. Sunday buffet was a shame. Only four people during the lunch time including me. Should have taken that sign as an indicator of how good the food will be. Go to Chipotle instead, right opposite to it.

Some of the best Indian food I have had anywhere...comparable to the Indian food I have eaten in England--which is really the best place outside of India to have Indian food.

Mirch Masala is so, soooo delicious. I have never ordered something I didn't like. Their hot Chai tea is perfectly spiced, and every single dish I've tried is wonderfully rich in flavor. My favorites are the Saag Paneer and the Chicken Korma. I also highly recommend the Peshwari Naan. The service there is quick and hospitable. The staff has always been pleasant and patient if I wanted to learn the name of particular type of food or how it is prepared. The decor is very cool and the seating is very comfortable. They are also awesome for take-out; they give you plenty of rice for each entree, they still give you the trio of dipping sauces you would get if you ate there, and they ALSO give you the ... uh, I forget what it's called, so I'll just call it the highly-addictive-thin-cracker-like food you get when you order there. Basically, they short change you nothing for ordering out, and they always ask me if I'd like water or anything else to drink while I'm waiting. If I were rich, I would eat there every other day, seriously.

I have been going to this restaurant almost back to its opening around 8 years ago. It is probably on its third owner. The last time I was there several months back I thought it might have been sold again. I went there yesterday with some trepidation after reading some of the recent reviews.. My wife and family were pleasantly surprised. There was a new waitress who was excellent and the old waitress seemed much better. The food and drinks were good , although the beer may have been a little stale. It took a while to get the food, but I am willing to wait for good food. I will be going back.

It is important to note that you get quite a different experience at lunch and dinner here. Lunch is a bit over-priced for what you get and the same dishes that are great at dinner are really not so great at lunch. That being said, dinner is just fantastic. I've tried several dishes like the Saag Paneer, some curries, Vindaloo (very-very great), but my absolute favorite is the Chicken Makhani, made spicy. Nicely cut strips of Tandoori chicken in the creamiest, yummiest, heated sauce imaginable over a plate of fluffy, basmati rice. Just heavenly! The service at Mirch Masala is always great as well. One time I ordered my dish spicy and it came out tasting off and the staff fixed this quickly and graciously. I only wish they offered some sort of combination plate at dinner, where you could pick a couple entrees. That would be fantastic!

We recently moved to Los Angeles and have had a tough time finding as great an Indian restaurant as Mirch Masala so I searched their reviews out on yelp to see if I could find out what region of india they cook (I think northern) and was surprised to see that they didn't have a 5 star reviews. Mirch Masala is clearly the top Indian in Colorado Springs (probably in the running for best Indian in all of Colorado with India House in downtown Denver). Some of the best service in the city as well. As an illustration, we once left our son's jacket there and when we returned about a month later they remembered us and brought my son's jacket out to his delight. If you've never had Indian, go here, order some chai or mango lassi, some nan and some chicken korma and you'll fall in love.

Mirch Masala is the best Indian in the Springs. It has won many local rewards. Love their Seekh Kebabs. The Chai Tea is the best I've had. I recommend this restaurant if craving Indian.

Such good food! We've been to pretty much all of the Indian places in Colorado Springs, this is by far our favorite. The lunch buffet has their main dishes, (tikka masala, paneer, various chutneys, creamy spinach dish, rice pudding, mango pudding, vegetable and potatoe stuffed pockets, various other creamy chicken dishes). Yes the lunch buffet doestn' change. But its basically a choice of their most popular dishes, and you get to try them all. And its as big as /bigger than pretty much any other indian buffe in the springs. The naan bread is by far our favorite though of all the places in town. Rather than being really heavy blocks of doughy bread, its light, fluffy, chewy butter goodness. Always served hot and as much as you can eat at the lunch buffet. Dinner you need to order it separate. The other dishes at dinner though are also fantastic. Chicken merkani, lamb dishes, paneer variations etc. The sauces are creamy, the spices are wonderfully varied and flavorful. At dinner they adjust the 'hot' level to your choice as well. Lunch buffet is 'mild'.

I haven't been to another "real" Indian restaurant before so don't have anything to compare to. However, the portions were large, my husband was ecstatic when he got a whole platter of 8+ lamp chops on a sizzling platter, grilled to perfection (any time he's ordered lamb chops from a restaurant he's been served 2 little chops). We ordered 8 various dishes and liked all of them except for the tandoori chicken (it was very tough and overcooked). We also tried the ginger drink, mango lassi and chai and all were delicious, the ginger drink had bite and was so refreshing, the mango lassi was creamy and just sweet enough with a real mango flavor and the chai was out of this world, creamy and so much better than any "chai" drink you can purchase at large coffee chains or bottled in a grocery store! The only big negative was the service was very slow even though there were only 3 tables filled and I was a bit annoyed that the waitress took another even larger party's order before ours and their food came out long before ours even though we were seated for quite a while before they entered, but who knows, maybe they were regulars? The food was good enough though that we'll probably visit again when we are back in this area. My kids are 8, 7 and 4 and they enjoyed the food but if your kids only do french fries and chicken nuggets this might not be the place for them.

Amazing food and service. Shrimp korma is the best I have ever had and I love their cheesy naan. Decor is a little old, but the food more than makes up for it. Tiny hole in the wall with great food, my absolute favorite!

The hours of operation for this place is absolutely absurd. I rushed here after work only to find out they are open for lunch, close, and then re-open at 5pm for dinner. It's 2015, unless your a 4/5 star restaurant then hire some staff to actually work a place of business.

Don't bother. Not as many items on the buffet as other places. Saag was extra creamy (didn't try it).

    (2)

  • Sarah D.

This is decent Indian food when you are in a craving bind. I think they recently got a new chef, because the food is a little better than it has been. The selection is limited and predictable, but the price is good. If you like the normal Indian food, this is a great place. You can order off the menu as well, but the buffet is the way to go.

Good...just not as good as some of the other Indian restaurants in town. Just my opinion...chicken tikka masala isn't bad, tandoori chicken was a little dry, chai tea was great and the naan was acceptable. Nothing mind blowing. Oh,and the waitress there was H O T!!!

I really enjoy the food here. I generally am not a fan of buffets as the food is not as fresh; however, their buffet is quiet good.

Mirch Masala is the best Indian in the Springs. It has won many local rewards. Love their Seekh Kebabs. The Chai Tea is the best I've had. I recommend this restaurant if craving Indian.
